Everything you need to know before buying a 2018 Toyota Camry V6 model near Tacoma

The Toyota Camry has been a staple in many garages for decades. It’s one of the most reliable cars on the market and impressively gets many of their owners over 200k miles with regular care and maintenance. They are spacious and easy to drive as well as the styling has been far improves from recent years. Toyota is keeping up with the demand for good looks and their V6 is no exception. Power and beauty wrapped up into one package. Let’s take a look at some of the things for you to consider with the new model.

Two V6 ModelsNew 2018 Toyota Camry Hybrid

There are two models that incorporate the V6 engine, the 3.5-L XLE V6 and the 3.5 L XSE V6.  Starting with the XLE you’re looking at a base price of about $35,000 with an EPA MPG of 22 city/33 highway (as per Toyota). The price is high but you are looking at a car that deprecates a lot less than other cars due to the reliability aspect of it. The sport model (XSE) is going to give you smoke tinted lights, which gives it the sportier aspect as opposed to the regular clear tinted XLE.

Standard Features

Of course the vehicle comes with numerous standard features. Both models come with heated exterior mirrors (which is great when it’s cold and snowy, gets rid of the ice and fog like magic), panoramic moonroof, and noise reducing front windshield. The interior includes some nice stand features as well including dual zone climate control with rear seat vents (those people in the back can now be cool), wireless charging for your smartphone, backup camera, leather trimmed heated seats, full speed dynamic radar cruise control, 3 driving modes 9 ECO, normal and sport), 10-in head up display, smart key system (push button opening of all doors with remote start, auto dimming rearview mirror with compass, and 3 USB ports (you know for all your electronics).  This is a lot of information garnered directly from Toyota itself.  baby-1178575_1920

Plus it has a multitude of safety features standard that include Toyota Care, Blind spot monitoring system with rear cross traffic braking (how cool), their Star safety system and ten airbags. It’s a lot of safety for a sedan to keep you and your family safe.

Now for the Reviews

There’s really no one consistent view on this car from the interior accessories to the looks. Many people, include Graham Jefferson via Autoguide stated that the car looks highly similar to the Lexus. And while a lot of people are swayed by the new design, many, like Caleb Algle also via Autoguide, are saying that “all this is going to accomplish is make the Lexus look less special.” While most people have had positive reviews of the styling, It’s really a hit or miss and depends on your personal preference.

Final Verdict

It’s a great car. Seriously. However one lacking feature may be a turnoff for some who are electronically inclined. There is no Android Auto or Apple CarPlay. This could be a huge setback for them and maybe in their next vehicle they’ll leave the styling alone and add this for those people who love their music. But if you are looking for a stylish, modern sedan for the family, go check this out. It will be worth your time (and probably make a great car to pass on to the kids).
