6 Best Ford Commuter Cars

Do you travel to and from work daily? Are you looking for a better commuter car to get you to work and back? Ford Motor Company offers some great options for the daily commuter. All of the vehicles on our list are very comfortable, smooth riding, and get good gas mileage.

Below are the top six Ford commuter cars we’d recommend

2017 Ford Fiesta

I had to put the Fiesta number one due to the gas mileage.

Do you and your co-workers like to sing in the car? If yes, than the Fiesta gives you an outstanding sound system. It offers you the option to use Android Auto or Apple CarPlay for you to sing your heart out. This can be purchased in Hatchback or sedan. Both are great looking cars. The gas mileage per gallon in not bad at all, 27 miles per gallon in the city and a big 35 miles per gallon on the highway. Fiesta is the best name for this car, because it’s like a party in your pocket with the money you can save.

2017 Ford Focus

Again this car rocks on the gas mileage. The sedan or hatchback gives you 24 miles per gallon in the city and an awesome 34 miles per gallon on the wide open highway. Also you need to check out the drivers assist package for this car which will help you drive safer on your daily commute.

Ford Fusion

This is a great car, in my opinion. Why? It’s larger and quieter than the first two options, and still gets great MPG. 21mpg is great and 32 mpg on the highway means less gas stops. I have to say five people can seat comfortably in this car, and it has a good sized trunk if you ever need to stop for groceries on your way home.

2017 Ford Escape (SUV)

You might be asking why an SUV? Let’s take a look, five passengers can fit comfortably, hands free lift gate for heavy items, and the gas mileage per gallon is 21 in city and 29 on the highway. Not bad at all for the drivers who need more room in their commuter, or those who want their vehicle to double as a family weekend ride.

2017 Ford Edge (SUV)

The Edge offers you a 2.7L Eco Boost engine with 21 miles per gallon in the city and 29 miles per gallon out on the highway. Parking active assistant, this includes a backup camera and a single is sounded when you change lines improperly. This cool looking crossover SUV seats 5 people and fits in well for city driving.

2017 Ford Flex (SUV)

Seating will allow seven passengers to ride comfortably. The third row seat allow either side or one to be folded down for larger items. Also the second row seats can be removed or folder. You will get a 3.5l Eco Boost engine give you 16 miles per gallon in the city and 23 miles per gallon on the open highway.

As you can see, even the Ford SUVs get great gas mileage for their size! So how do you decide between a sedan commuter and SUV commuter vehicle? If you are strictly using your commuter to drive yourself to work, the sedans make more sense and will save you money. If you plan on using your vehicle on the weekends as well, consider a Ford SUV since they are more spacious.
